Throughout Dolores' life she enjoyed sewing, she loved her singer machine. Her passion was knitting and crocheting. This always put a big smile on her face. She also liked to plant in her garden but if she came across a worm, you would hear her screams at the end of a very long block we lived on.

Dolores will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her, especially her family who will always remember her.

Dolores Hernandez lived a beautiful fulfilled life surrounded by family and loved ones. Dolores was born November 18th,1931 to her parents Luis and Rosa, She was one of 15 children born in Arecibo in Garrochales PR, she decided to leave the farm life behind after the passing of her parents and start a new life. She arrived in the Bronx in 1947 to live with her older sister Anacelia to start her journey in the states. She began her first job in a garment factory but was determined to create a better life. She started her career as a Child caregiver that gave her great joy she loved children. She always said god put her on earth to care for others it was her passion. She was always giving to the less fortunate making sure they were fed and clothed. She loved to care for others and make sure everyone that came into her door was greeted with a cup of coffee and a hot homecooked meal. Dolores was put on this earth to take care of and love others. She enjoyed many hobbies like fashion, decorating for her favorite holidays traveling to different cities, taking boat rides, crochet, reading gossip magazines, loved Telenovela (Walter Mercado) , gardening, cooking for the family, and strangers, she loved the church. She also took pride in donating to St.Jude every year she even holds an award for a life long member/doner. If you were to ask her what was one if her greatest accomplishments was she surviving lymphoma Cancer at the age of 80.
